Welcome to Van-Centre Forklift & Industrial Repairs Ltd, your go-to solution for comprehensive on-site forklift maintenance and repair services in the Lower Mainland. Our fleet of service vans, strategically stationed throughout the region, is equipped with mobile shops, allowing our skilled service technicians to conduct on-site troubleshooting and repairs promptly.
At Van-Centre Forklift, we extend our expertise beyond forklifts to cover a spectrum of mobile equipment, including scissor lifts and man lifts. Our Certified technicians in the Lower Mainland are adept at diagnosing and efficiently repairing equipment, ensuring minimal downtime for your operations.
What distinguishes us is our unwavering commitment to technician performance. Unlike others in the industry, we prioritize a dual approach of attracting top-notch technicians and providing comprehensive training. We refrain from the common practice of part swapping for repairs, dedicating the time needed to identify and resolve issues without unnecessary part replacements.
Our technicians bring diverse backgrounds, drawing expertise from heavy-duty, automotive, and related industries. As the Forklift Service Technician is no longer a Red Seal trade in Canada, our team undergoes rigorous training and development. We proudly support the Industry Training Authority (ITA) and continually welcome apprentices eager to grow with our Canadian-owned and operated company.
Van-Centre Forklift positions itself as a Canadian-owned and operated alternative to multi-national dealerships, standing out with a focus on servicing all brands of mobile equipment. Specializing in electric forklifts and mobile equipment, our technicians are often better trained and more knowledgeable than most major players in the region. If your current dealership seems to be replacing parts without resolving the underlying issues, it might be the ideal time to consider making the switch to Van-Centre Forklift & Industrial Repairs Ltd for reliable, brand-agnostic, and skillfully executed maintenance and repair services.
Q. Do you charge for travel?
A. Yes, our mechanics are billed from the time they leave their current location till the job is complete. Please understand unlike car repairs we come to you and as a result that time needs to be accounted for.
Q. What is your response time?
A. Depending on workload we strive to have a technician on site within 24 hours, but we aim for less.
Q. What are shop supplies and why am I paying for it?
A. Shop supplies are a small flat rate charge ($30) on all invoices that pays for items not otherwise billed, such as grease, rags, coveralls and fuel.
Q. Why does my forklift need to go to the shop for repairs?
A. Sometimes a job is too big for the road. Fortunately Van-Centre Forklift has a fully equipped shop to handle a job of any size.
Q. What kind of service can I expect from Van-Centre Forklift?
A. We understand that your equipment is important to you and Van-Centre Forklift has the experience you need to get your machines up and running quickly. With decades of experience in the material handling industry, we offer all the same perks that you get from the largest companies with the agility of a family owned business.
Q. Why do we never see your service vehicles on the road? your competition is everywhere.
A. We realize your business needs to maintain a certain level of professionalism, especially this is true for some of our major clients with over 100 units in their buildings. although there is no such thing as bad advertising, there is a difference between advertising our business and advertising your business, your forklifts being broken down we don't believe should be advertised to your clients. we understand that all forklifts, dock equipment and scissor lifts will have problems, we also know that potential clients of yours don't want to see a service company at your building, they want to believe your equipment never has downtime and will never cost them a penny, so we opted to go discreate.
Q. Why do you still drive diesel and gas vehicles?
A. VCF is the only forklift company in bc to have a publicly available commitment to go electric. currently we are in the process of upgrading our fleet to more fuel efficient vehicles and will be moving to electric service vans as soon as they are publicly available and are offered at a cost that is justifiable. To stay committed to this process we recently installed level 2 chargers to our facility as well as replaced our parts vehicle with a 100 percent electric BMW I3. This process is taking longer then we expected however we remain hopeful that electric vans will be available in the next few years.
Q. what is the average repair cost of a broken forklift?
A. This depends on several factors most of them too specific to each case. However in analyzing hundreds of thousands of jobs over the last 40 years, most repairs will set you back between $600-$1500, large complex repairs average between $1500-3000.
